Laughter can be a life saver as we age. As teacher and writer Bel Kaufman wrote, “Laughter keeps you healthy. You can survive by seeing the humor in everything. Thumb your nose at sadness; turn the tables on tragedy. You can’t laugh and be angry, you can’t laugh and feel sad, you can’t laugh and feel envious.”
To the editor: I must admit that I look forward to the occasional articles on Google that are published in The Chronicle. I find them humorous and always good for a laugh. In particular the statement from Scott Hege in regards to the $800,000 Google is paying out instead of taxes. Supposedly twice as much as anyone else is paying.
Some hard choices will have to be made this year. You will encounter resistance at first, but once others take note of your direction, you will win them over. Your confidence will increase as your talents blossom. You will be victorious if you are determined to outmatch your competition.
Dedication and diligence are key components to success. Careful planning and fully exploiting every opportunity will pay off. Don’t allow minor setbacks to deter you. Hard work and a positive attitude will ensure that you reach your goals.
