Columbia Gorge CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is pleased to introduce their newest child advocates: Martine Geeraert, Hood River; Patty Hyde, The Dalles; Katie Layne, White Salmon; Sheri Sharp, Grass Valley; and Corrie Smith, Hood River. The group was sworn into duty by the Honorable Janet L. Stauffer in The Dalles on April 18 after completing 32 hours of training.

AMBER ASHLEY, above right, graduated from Family Dependency Court on Tuesday, April 7. Family Dependency Court is a program developed to help participants achieve total abstinence from substance abuse and to promote self-sufficiency and return the participant to the community as a productive and responsible citizen. The program is voluntary and a personal choice. One year ago Amber Ashley made the choice to get clean and be reunited with her daughter. She celebrated her graduation from the program with many friends and family members who attended to show their support for a job well done. Judge Janet L. Stauffer, left, presided.
