Northern Wasco County PUD is warning customers of telephone scams targeting local customers over the last week. The customers are reporting that they have received a phone call stating that their power service will be shut off unless they pay an amount either by wiring the money from Walmart or Rite-Aid or by paying by credit card.
Northern Wasco County PUD is warning customers of a telephone scam that targeted a local customer. The customer received a phone call Dec. 23 from a man wanting $800 or the customer’s power would be turned off. The customer contacted Northern Wasco County PUD and was told not to give out any information and to report the incident to local police.
