Our young Glenwood cowgirls, Joslyn Arnold and Peyton Sanchey, had a great time at the National Pro Rodeo (NPRA) Finals in Salem last weekend. While the Finals didn’t go as well for Peyton in Barrel Racing as she had hoped, qualifying for the Finals and finishing 9th overall for the year is really something to be proud of.
Welcome to Glenwood. A project long in the planning and fundraising phase finally reached completion recently with the installation of three new “Welcome to Glenwood” signs, just in time for all the visitors to the rodeo.
Here’s an honor for a Glenwood High School senior, Jayla Avila, that needs to take top billing in today’s column. Jayla has been a standout player on the Trout Lake/Glenwood girls basketball team.
I love writing about the successes of our current and former Glenwood kids and all community members. One of our outstanding 2023 Glenwood High School graduates, Allison (Ally) McFall, has headed back to her second year at Washington State University.

Congratulations to the newest member of the Texas Rattlers Professional Bull Riders (PBR) club, Shane Scott! Shane was the No. 9 draft pick in round one, making him the youngest rider, at age 18, to ever be drafted to the PBR. And he’s been having all this success while still a senior in high school.
