Following an unsuccessful recruitment to fill the city attorney position upon the retirement of City Attorney Gene Parker in March, The City of The Dalles’ council approved a service contract with Campbell Phillips, PC, of The Dalles to provide the city with legal services at their regular meeting Jan. 27.
Voters in the city will be asked to approve a revised City of The Dalles charter on the May 19 primary election following unanimous approval of the proposed charter by the city council Jan. 13.
The City of The Dalles has made a tentative offer to Michelle Teed to serve as city attorney. The city is doing a background check, and anticipates moving forward at the Nov. 25 meeting of the council.
