In October 2012, the first-ever Reconnect to the River Festival was sponsored by The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce. The event was to celebrate the completion of the new city dock and the arrival of cruise ships to The Dalles.
One thing is certain about Fort Dalles days, from year to year the 10-day celebration maintains most of its big, marquee events, but the activities that surround them evolve, grow and change.
A new beer and wine garden for Jammin’ July is planned near the Maison de Glace winery featuring wines from Maison, 15 Mile and Sunshine wineries. The Skyline Grill and Taco del Mar will have food trucks there and the Band Sucker Punch will play.
PORTLAND — The spectacular scenery of The Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood and surrounding areas will be on display this weekend as The Oregon Trail Rally, held May 2-4, airs on NBC Sports Network this Sunday, June 1 at 3 pm PT.
The Fort Dalles Floozies and Friends will perform a melodrama, “Double Crossed in The Dalles,” written by local author Linda Beiter, at The Dalles Civic Auditorium theater. The dates are July 18 and 19, with a matinee July 20. Auditions will be at the Civic theater on Friday, May 30, at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, May 31, at 10 a.m., and Sunday, June 1, at 1 p.m.
Long anticipated: Golden shovels will send dirt flying this Friday, Jan. 31, in celebration of the groundbreaking at the future North Chenoweth Industrial Business Park.
