Fall league action has begun at Hood River’s tenpin palace, venerable Orchard Lanes. There’s nothing quite like the little, friendly competition that leagues provide. When there is a little on the line we tend to do better.

Spring is a special and exciting time for high school seniors. With graduation on the horizon, these young adults are about to close one chapter of their lives and begin the next. But before they toss their caps to the wind and go their separate ways, we checked in with seven Hood River Valley High School and two Horizon Christian School seniors to get a glimpse into the heart and soul of the class of 2013.

The last few months of practice and training paid off for Hood River Valley High School’s winter competitive cheerleading team. The squad of 13 girls performed in front of thousands Saturday at the Memorial Coliseum in the annual OSAA state cheerleading contest and, in its second season as a competitive team, placed fifth out of 12 in the 5A small division.
