On March 28, the MCCOG board voted unanimously to hire David Meriwether, who previously served as administrator for Hood River County, to serve as interim director. Meriwether started work on Monday, April 3.

Seven candidates have filed for election to Hood River City Council, including former City Manager Bob Francis and former Mayor Bob Palmer, while in Cascade Locks the mayor and council incumbents are the only people to file as of 10 a.m. Tuesday.
