A host of citizens and businesses were recognized as “Visionaries of Our Time” during The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce’s Distinguished Citizens Award Banquet at the Fort Dalles Readiness Center Thursday. The event also featured the Mid-Columbia Health Foundation’s philanthropy awards, previously awarded at a second annual banquet hosted by the foundation.
Taggers have once again been targeting The Dalles with spray painted graffiti — some of it vulgar, some of it threatening — but those whose properties have been hit need not repaint or call a specialist, said Barbara Pizzola of A's Sewing.

It was amazing to watch the Fort Dalles Rodeo Association and its many volunteers come together to provide fun, family entertainment for our community. It is encouraging to see so many organizations come out to support the event.
Jammin’ July will live up to its name, jamming a whole lot of entertainment and activity into downtown The Dalles this Saturday, July 13, from 5 to 10 p.m.
The Fort Dalles Rodeo Association is launching the Cowboys Crawling for the Cause pub crawl to benefit local cancer prevention. Crawlers will roam between downtown bars wearing T-shirts identifying them as part of the crawl. Proceeds from the shirts benefit Breast Health for Strong Families.
