I’ve found there have been several stages in my life: youth, when I had no idea what I was doing; marriage, when I had no idea what I was doing; several careers, when I had no idea what I was doing; and raising a family, when — well, you get the picture.
To the editor: I recently read about the review of the Public Works Department and wanted to write about my experiences with it since I moved to The Dalles last year, both positive. In one case there was a dead animal on the street in front of my house.
The Dalles Police Department will be actively enforcing the downtown parking ordinance during the holiday season with an officer on foot patrol along designated areas of First through Fifth streets. “Most of the year, enforcement of this ordinance is complaint-driven but during the holiday season we actively enforce,” said Chief Jay Waterbury.
This will be a year of discovery. By embracing new concepts and ideas, you will grow emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Your thirst for knowledge will lead to many stimulating breakthroughs. Live in the moment and explore these new opportunities.
You will have to streamline your agenda this year. Although it’s exciting to have varied interests, you must narrow your focus to address the most important challenges. If you keep your commitments to a minimum, you will find it easier to reach your goals.
Push a little harder and prepare to excel in the coming year. Interacting with others will help open windows of opportunity, allowing you to get the results you seek. To ensure your success, pick up new skills or information that will keep you ahead of the pack.
Rise to the occasion in the coming solar cycle. Put your best foot forward and be ready to dive into anything with courage and determination. Challenges will provide you with opportunities to thrive and improve. Hard work will bring you fabulous rewards.
