Robinson Brother’s Construction will begin working on asphalt restoration along West 6th street between Webber and Chenowith Loop Road Thursday, April 25. The work is estimated to continue until May 10.

The City of Hood River will close Sixth from State to Sherman Street from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through April 20, and motorists can expect delays in the area this week and beyond because of ongoing work on Sherman Street from Ninth Street east. The entire project will be resurfaced with new asphalt following the water line replacement as Beam Excavating and other city crews install water mains in the neighborhood.

40 Years Ago-1973 The outlaw ride, a fiddlers contest and the coronation of the queen of Fort Dales Days got that annual celebration off and rolling today. The outlaw ride, with the Fort Dalles Days Vigilantes going through the downtown area selling string neckties for the event, started off the week long occasion.

Bargeway to be closed May 8 Bargeway Road, between Terminal and Webber streets, will be closed to all traffic, including emergency vehicles, on Wednesday, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The contractor for City of The Dalles Public Works Department will be finishing the asphalt paving work on this part of the project.
