Russell and Jenny Loughmiller wanted to spend some time in another country with their four kids, but they didn’t want just another 10-day European trip.
They also felt their family needed a strong bonding experience, and from those two desires came a remarkable adventure: a 45-day, 550-mile hike along the Camino de Santiago, a famous religious pilgrimage in Spain.
I’m a physician in Hood River. My business and passion is taking care of my patients — all ages, all incomes, large and small medical needs, acute and chronic, physical and mental, from preventive to end-of-life. I don’t have the chops or inclination to be a journalist, but those same patients and neighbors often need policy advocacy to ensure even basic access to medical care. So, on their behalf, let me explain why I, and the vast majority of Oregon’s medical community, want to make sure Measure 101 gets passed this month.

To the editor: I am writing to commend The Dalles Chronicle on its editorial concerning the Sunshine Mill and on the fiscal handling of properties in The Dalles; one in particular very dear to my heart, which is the Civic Auditorium.
