HOOD RIVER – On a night when offense was tough to come by, the No. 13-ranked Dufur Rangers used its stifling defense to hold upset-minded Horizon Christian at bay. Down 15-12 at halftime, the Lady Rangers held Horizon Christian without a field goal for the final 18 minutes and used runs of 11-0 and 10-2 to score a 33-17 win Saturday in a Big Sky Conference matchup played in Hood River.

Taylor Darden tallied a season-high 21 points and Aimeelyn Miller added 11 of her own to lead the No. 14-ranked Dufur Lady Rangers, but No. 1 Condon-Wheeler had too many weapons to handle in jumping out to a 63-53 win Saturday in Big Sky girls’ play in Fossil.
