As expected, the White Salmon City Council last Wednesday re-pealed its back-in parking policy on downtown E Jewett Boulevard and added a new regulation that re-stricts the sizes of vehicles that can park on the south side of the street to 20 feet or less.
A friend of mine is the comptroller of a small corporation. As such, she is required to handle all aspects of that company’s finances including payroll. She takes the opportunity to figure and tweak the withholding from her own paycheck to reach her goal of neither owing taxes nor being due a refund on April 15.
It’s time to get up and get moving. The time for pondering and procrastinating has ended. Go out and prove to the world that you are capable, intelligent and ready for success. Your biggest problem is your fear of failure.

The Dalles City Council will consider a 2 percent raise for non-union employees at Monday’s regular meeting. Nolan Young, city manager, is recommending approval of the pay increase that will be effective July 1. His staff report states that 33 non-union workers have received a much smaller cost of living adjustment in recent years than 47 employees in two unions.
