HOOD RIVER — More than 75 people attended a Friday evening Interfaith Vigil for Peace and Ceasefire in Gaza held at the State Street salmon fountain Dec. 22, sponsored by Riverside Community Church.

Participants shared songs, chants, prayers and readings from a variety of faith traditions including Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Bahai, Unitarian Universalism and Buddhism. Attendees gathered in a circle around a pair of children’s shoes, urging President Biden and congressional leaders to support an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
