Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Charles “Chuck” Robert Yadro, 69, passed away at OHSU surrounded by family and friends on Nov. 12, 2015, from a severe brain bleed he obtained from a fall.
Chuck is survived by his daughters Kristie Yadro (Raker) in Princeton, N.J., Kari Yadro in Vancouver and their mother JoAnn Yadro in White Salmon; sister Joyce Murphy and her family in Vancouver.
Chuck was born in Aberdeen to Charlie and Marjorie Yadro. He served four years as a naval aviation mechanic, working on planes, and then went on to attend Clark College in Vancouver. He obtained a job at Columbia Logscaling and Grading Bureau as a log-scaler in 1971 where he worked until 2005.
He moved his family to White Salmon in 1979, where he lived for over 20 years prior to moving to Tygh Valley, Ore.
Chuck was a skilled carpenter and landscaper and built an English Tudor style home in White Salmon. He enjoyed collecting prewar Lionel trains; flying model airplanes; restoring Triumph cars and airplanes; relaxing with a good mystery show; entertaining others with his practical jokes, card games, and drawings. He was a proud father and a fun-loving friend who will be missed.
A special thank you to the OHSU Trauma ICU team on 8C for their compassion and empathy.
A memorial service for Chuck was held at The Salmon Creek Methodist Church on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. with a reception following.
