THE DALLES — The Dalles Art Center has announced three opportunities for artists to showcase their work in the coming months: the Student Art Showcase, the Holiday Artisan Market and the open show “Elemental: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit.”
Student Art Showcase
From Nov. 12-15, TDAC welcomes young artists (ages 3-18) to participate in the Student Art Showcase. This exhibit offers a supportive environment for the youth to display and sell their artwork. All visual media are allowed, including painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry and mixed media. There is no entry fee, and artists may submit up to two pieces. TDAC will waive all usual commission splits for participants, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the student artists. The submission deadline was Nov. 1, and the opening party will take place on Nov. 13 from 5-7 p.m.
Holiday Artisan Market
This annual event is a celebration of local creativity, featuring fine art and handcrafted goods from artists and makers throughout the Mid-Columbia Gorge, spanning Nov. 20-Dec. 20. The market offers community members a chance to shop for locally made holiday gifts. Makers were invited to submit their work by Nov. 1, with all media welcome, including fine art, jewelry, pottery, fiber arts, holiday decor and more. A $20 vendor participation fee will apply. The opening party will take place on Nov. 20 from 5-7 p.m.
Elemental: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit
An open show inviting artists to explore the power, beauty and energy of the natural elements through their work, “Elemental” welcomes all media submissions by Dec. 20. Artists may submit up to two pieces with a fee of $20. The opening reception will occur on Jan. 29 from 5-7 p.m.
