Margo Dameier photoHOOD RIVER — Central Gorge Master Gardeners held the Garden Gathering workshop “Planning Your Fall Garden” Aug. 10 at the Hood River County Extension Service.
One of the tools demonstrated by Master Gardener and volunteer Anne Gehrig was how to use a soil blocker. The soil blocker produces blocks of soil that are used for starting seeds without the use of a pot.
Master gardeners report now is a good time to start seeds for your fall garden, and the soil blocker can be borrowed through the Library of Things at the Hood River Library. Garden tools at the Library of Things are made available through a partnership between the Hood River Library, Hood River Supply/Ace Hardware and Central Gorge Master Gardeners.
