WEST GLACIER, Mont. – A report from the National Park Service touts significant economic impact of Glacier National Park tourism in 2024.
The report revealed that 3.2 million visitors spent approximately $458 million in the local gateway regions, contributing to a total economic output of $656 million.
Visitor spending supported 5,190 jobs and generated $217 million in labor income in the communities around Glacier National Park.
“The communities around Glacier are our partners in providing visitors with information that helps them enjoy the park safely and responsibly - so that we may all continue to experience the wonder of this wild and scenic landscape for generations to come," said Glacier National Park Superintendent Dave Roemer.
Nationally, park visitor spending in 2024 supported 340,000 jobs and contributed $56.3 billion to the U.S. economy, with lodging and restaurants seeing the greatest benefits. The lodging sector received $11.1 billion, while restaurants saw $5.7 billion from park tourism.
