(The Center Square) – Americans who’ve been impacted by terrorism have been calling on Congress to authorize full funding for the U.S. Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund (USVSST Fund) and for transparency related to two 9/11 lawsuits.

A bipartisan group filed HR 9795, led by U.S. Reps. from New York, Laura Gillen, a Democrat, and Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican, to ensure that $3 billion is transferred to the fund a year. It includes mandatory distribution requirements and creates a mechanism to ensure victims holding unpaid terrorism judgments are paid. It hasn’t moved out of the House Judiciary Committee.
