Notable incidents
Two non-injury crashes. An inattentive box truck swiped a guardrail and got stuck on Hwy 30, milepost 63 westbound Nov. 7. A Buick hit gas instead of brakes and rammed a Dodge Ram Nov. 12.
A Ford F-350 and utility trailer blew a tire and was engulfed in flames on I-84 Gilliam County on Nov. 7. The driver escaped intact.
Three DUII arrests. A wobbling bicycle in downtown Hood River made unsafe turns, ran a stop sign, and got charged with DUII Nov. 8. Separately, an off-duty trooper reported an erratically speeding Toyota, resulting in three charges for the driver.
Hunting and fishing. A father reported their daughter accidentally shot a cow elk, which was seized, and the daughter cited. Cow will be processed and donated to Wheeler County School District. Another hunter reported their comrade for taking antlerless elk, also seized for a food bank.
