HOOD RIVER — Columbia Gorge Major Crimes Team has arrested a third suspect in the homicide investigation of Stephen Hayes.
Hayes was killed April 11 in Hood River after confronting individuals who were attempting to steal property from his vehicle.
HOOD RIVER — Columbia Gorge Major Crimes Team has arrested a third suspect in the homicide investigation of Stephen Hayes.
Hayes was killed April 11 in Hood River after confronting individuals who were attempting to steal property from his vehicle.
Jonathan Bradly Matthews, 31, of The Dalles, was arrested at 12:09 p.m. today, April 15. Matthews was booked and lodged at NORCOR on the charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and reckless endangering.
William Edward Hardy Jr., 36, and Elizabeth June Bowman, 41, were booked and lodged at NORCOR on April 12 on the charges of second-degree manslaughter, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first degree theft, and first-degree robbery, in relation to this investigation.
“The Hood River Police Department would like to thank the Columbia Gorge Major Crimes Team for their assistance in this investigation,” said a press release from Hood River Chief of Police Neal Holste dated April 15. “The Major Crimes Team consists of detectives from the Hood River Police Department, Hood River County Sheriff's Office, The Dalles Police Department, Wasco County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Oregon State Police.”
