THE GORGE — Turnout in Hood River County for the Nov. 5 general election is 46.28%, or 7,754 ballots returned, as of end of day Oct. 31, said Brian Beebe, director, department of records and assessment for Hood River County.
“In 2020 [at this time], we were at 65.24% turnout, or 10,248 ballots returned,” he said. “In 2016, we were at 47.40% turnout, or 6,424 ballots returned.”
Turnout is 42.14%, or 7,935 ballots returned, as of end of day Oct. 31 for Wasco County, said Chrissy Zaugg, chief deputy county clerk for Wasco County. In 2020 at this time, turnout was 58.12%, or 10,561 ballots returned.
According to The Washington Secretary of State, in Klickitat County, 4,956 ballots have been received, for a turnout of 30.19%. Of those, 4,933 have been accepted, or 30.05%. And in Skamania County, 3,875 ballots have been received, or 41.28%. Of those, 3,817 ballots have been accepted, or 40.67%.
