Riverkeeper throws a party Saturday

Ticket prices are $5 for under 21 and $7 for those over 21. The under 21 crowd will have their own space in the upstairs portion of the club.

For just $3 more you can also get five raffle tickets for prizes to be auctioned off the night of the event between bands.

The party culminates the For the River Day celebration held on Aug. 23 when 49 businesses donated a percentage of their day’s revenue, a set amount or a raffle gift for the party.

Receipts from any of the sponsoring businesses from Aug. 23 can also be redeemed for free raffle tickets the night of the event. Prizes for the raffle include a training kite, windsurf lessons, dinners for two, restaurant gift certificates, massage, jewelry, clothing, and more, all donated by local businesses.

The Consul was formed in 1999 when guitarist Zane Williams, a former White Salmon resident and 1997 Columbia High graduate, placed an ad in a Seattle newspaper. Williams, then a recent Music Business graduate from the Art Institute of Seattle, was seeking equally driven and ambitious musicians to combine talents.

Almost immediately, Williams hooked up with Anders Berggren and Jake Savishinsky, a well-known power rhythm section in the Seattle area.

Discovering they all had the same desire for intrigue, intensity, and complexity in their compositions, they worked diligently for almost a year before shopping their sound to local clubs. They have been working steadily ever since.

Their music has been described as “instrumental metallic fusion revolving around tight funk grooves.”

Their live perfomances engage the audience with a charged blend of energetic rhythms and solid unity.

They have recently completed their debut CD, “Diplomatic Immunity” which will be available at the show Saturday night and at Zeman’s Music.

Gorge band Fricitiv Najszhue will make its Northwest debut Saturday night. It is a five-piece classic rock band that plays cover rock songs from the 60’s to present.

The members include: Scot Bergeron on lead vocals and rythym guitar; Glen Holmberg, lead guitar, vocals; Rebecca Stonestreet, keyboards, vocals; Sam Salter, bass, vocals; and Nathan Salter, drummer, vocals. The music is high energy, danceable, and fun.

Cerulean Blue will play between The Consul and Fricitiv Najszhue.
