Kim Lofgren and Shannon Tortolano are two women with a shared passion — live fermented beverages. They joined together in the winter of 2014 to create One Breath Beverage, the first start-up craft brewery of kombucha and kefir water in Hood River.

Kombucha, the bubbly, fermented beverage made from tea, has been enjoying a surge of popularity for a few years now, due in part to its health benefits. Because it’s naturally fermented with a living colony of bacteria and yeast, kombucha is a live probiotic beverage. In addition to the health benefits of probiotics, kombucha is much lower in sugar and calories than other sweet drinks. It’s pretty delicious too! The pristine spring water, abundant local organic produce, and an amazing community have made Hood River an outstanding place to brew these nourishing probiotic beverages.
