The annual "Lyle" cleanup project netted 190 yards of trash, at least 10 pickup loads of scrap metal and two pickup loads of used appliances. Donations made to the Lyle Community Council for the opportunity of a free dumpsite for two days totaled over $260. Thank you, this will help fund future council projects. Joy Collins chairs this project each year and the council helps man the site, and provides pick up service for the residents about town. As usual they all did a great job. Thank you.
The Lion's club hosted its annual Easter egg hunt at the "Lyle Park Place" on Saturday. Over 50 children searched the grass for the candy the Easter Bunny had hidden. Who had the most fun -- the children, the Easter Bunny, or the Lion's club members??
The local Sundowners R.V. Club spent this last weekend at the Tygh Valley Fairgrounds with 15 rigs in attendance. Guests were Leland and Arlene Brasuell from White Salmon, Ivor and Dorothy Jones from Lyle and Rhett Howard and family from Dallesport. It was reported that the Easter Bunny visited each and every rig.
The Lyle-Balch Cemetery clean up will be held May 22, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Let's all work together to get the cemetery spruced up in honor of our loved ones for Memorial Day. A noon potluck will be held at the Grange followed by the annual cemetery business meeting.
