Traffic was routed around State Route 141A Tuesday morning following a log truck accident which blocked both lanes of travel. The accident occurred at approximately 8:10 when a 2003 Ken-worth tractor with log trailer, owned by M&M Logging out of Glenwood, was heading southbound on SR 141A and crossed the centerline.

According to the WSP report, the driver, Lawrence R. Jackson, 59, from Brookings, Ore., overcorrected causing the load to shift and the vehicle to roll on its side. The vehicle left the roadway to the right, struck a tree and came to rest blocking both lanes. The truck also lost its load of logs on the roadway. An SDS self-loader log truck with its own load happened to be following the truck that wrecked and was used to remove the trailer and logs off the roadway. The self-loader was also used in conjunction with a front-end loader to right the rig. Jackson was transported to Skyline Hospital with injuries. He was charged with negligent driving. The accident is still under investigation.
