Coming off a bitter late-inning loss Monday to Marist, The Dalles baseball team responded with aggression Wednesday using an 11-hit attack to post a lopsided 17-3 road baseball victory over Redmond.
Once again, all-state third baseman Nolan McCall had his potent bat working for him, as he went 3 for 6 with a double, three runs scored and four RBIs.
Tribe leadoff hitter, Colin Noonan, tacked on two hits, a walk, four runs and two RBIs, and all-state shortstop Steven Bartells chipped in a 3 for 6 effort with a run and two RBIs.
The Eagle Indians started behind the eight-ball early on with the host Panthers plating three runs in the first frame off Noonan.
As the game wore on however, the TD pitching stifled Redmond and the offense methodically built its lead, breaking open a 6-3 cushion with one run in the fifth inning, four in the sixth and six more tallies in the seventh.
Zach Cantrell added two hits, two runs and three RBIs, Clay Copper drove in two runs with a double, and Clayton Ringer drove in a pair of runs in his two at-bats.
From the third inning on, TD relief pitchers Colton Walker and Bartells tossed 4 1/3 frames of no-hit ball with three strikeouts and a walk. Walker picked up the win, as he allowed just one base runner in his 3-plus frames.
The Eagle Indians (1-1 overall) head to Bend Saturday for a twinbill starting at noon.
