Lady Huskies lock in 3rd seed

“We struggled a little bit on offense, but I could not be more proud of the way our girls played defense against Arlington,” said Sherman coach Steve Kaseberg. “We didn’t have a lot go our way, but the girls fought hard to get the win. They showed guts out there.”

Arlington (12-11 overall, 6-7 league) was able to convert just seven field goals and went 16 of 25 from the free throw line, with Bethany Tutuvanu leading with nine points.

Guzman led the Huskies (10-11, 8-5) with 13 points, and the tandem of Katie Asher and Brittney Orendorff were good enough for six points each.

After Saturday’s home game versus Dufur, Sherman will host a 1A district play-in contest at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
