Pat Ashmore, deputy superintendent of the Oregon State Police in Salem, has been appointed police chief for the City of The Dalles. Ashmore resides in The Dalles and is a native of The Dalles. He is retiring from OSP after 30 years of service. His first official day in the office will be August 1.
