Music in the Park cancelled

The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to cancel the 2013 Music in the Park series, which includes the June 12, July 17 and Aug. 14 dates.

Cal McDermid, events coordinator for the chamber, said a “lack of financial sponsorship for this event led to the decision to cancel the series.” He said the chamber is not able to pay more than 75 percent of the cost for the concerts on its own.
