The Mid-Columbia Interagency Narcotics Task Force arrested a fugitive in The Dalles last week, as well as four people accused of drug trafficking.
“It was a good week for the team,” said Wasco County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Williams.
He said MINT received word that Raymond Allen Schadewitz, 37, was in The Dalles and began tracking down leads.
Schadewitz, who was wanted on a felony warrant from another state, was located Aug. 22 in a parking lot near Walgreens adn Shari’s.
He was taken into custody and lodged in the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facilities in The Dalles. Shadewitz now faces prosecution on charges of unlawful delivery and possession of methamphetamine, as well as endangering the welfare of a minor.
Three days later, on Aug. 25, MINT executed a search warrant at a 919 Pomona Street apartment that resulted in the arrest of four people on drug-related charges.
Williams said Jason Ray Lindsey, 36, Tiffany Maria Barajas, 23, and Kevin Ray Flowers, 49, were in the residence when officers arrived and all three were jailed.
Lindsay and Barajas were charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and unlawful possession of meth. Barajas and Flowers were charged with frequenting a place where controlled substances are used.
Williams said Shannon Yvonne Flynn, 26, lived at the apartment but was not home when the search was conducted. She was located and arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of meth.
He asks anyone with information about these cases, or other drug activity in town, to call the MINT tip line at 541-296-1885.
Five others have been arrested by MINT in publicized cases earlier in August.
“Our team is proactive and doing a great job,” said Williams. “There are always going to be people addicted to drugs so MINT has to stay on the move.”
The task force is comprised of law enforcement officers from the local sheriff’s office, The Dalles City Police, Hood River Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon National Guard Counterdrug Trask Force. The team serves Wasco, Hood River and Sherman counties.
