The Dalles City
A caller reported Tuesday morning a purse was stolen from a vehicle in a parking lot on Bret Clodfelter Way.
A gas station by The Dalles bridge reported someone drove off without paying for gas Tuesday morning.
A caller reported Tuesday morning cans were being stolen from the Home At Last can drop-off in the 260 block of West Sixth Street. Kelvin F. Lucas, 44, The Dalles, was arrested on a charge of third degree theft.
A caller reported a man in the 1000 block of Hostetler was pinned under a mobile home. Officers found a vehicle rolled off a trailer and the man was hurt trying to stop the vehicle from rolling.
A caller reported Tuesday afternoon a dog was in the back of a truck in a cage at the state office building parking lot from before 8 a.m. to after 5 p.m. every day and it howls. The dog owner was contacted and said the dog is with him as he is between houses. The dog has water and is walked three times daily and he is looking for a foster family for the dog until he finds a place to live. The animal control officer concluded it was not neglect.
A woman in the 2300 block of East 16th Street called police Tuesday afternoon to report getting a scam phone call from a male purporting to be her grandson, saying he was in jail in another country and needed money from her.
A caller reported Tuesday afternoon their vehicle was hit while in a parking lot in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street and the passenger side mirror had been knocked off.
A man in the 1200 block of East 12th Street reported Tuesday evening someone painted “buster” on his garage in the alley.
Kevin Eugene Johnson, 43, Mosier, was arrested at Highway 197 and David Cutoff Road and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.
Michael David Shinnick, 44, The Dalles, was arrested in the 2600 block of West Sixth Street and is accused of parole violation.
Jerry Duane Vowels, 57, The Dalles, was arrested in a parking lot in the 2500 block of West Sixth Street and is accused of probation violation.
Wasco County
A search warrant was executed early Tuesday morning in the 3500 block of Fax Road. Mitzi Belle Wicherham, 35, of The Dalles, was arrested on two counts of first-degree failure to appear and Nicholas Howard Mason, 45, The Dalles, was arrested on counts of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
A man on the 900 block of Root Road reported that someone was pounding on his house and making threats to him and his wife Tuesday afternoon. Deputies and a trooper were unable to find the people but remained in the area to reassure the man.
A man reported his son-in-law and son-in-law’s dad missing Tuesday afternoon when they didn’t return from a deer hunting trip. The man dropped off the hunters Saturday at Mack Canyon and he was supposed to pick them up Monday at Heritage Landing when they called him. But the man never received a phone call and said this is the first time the subjects have not shown up when expected. He wasn’t 100 percent sure he was supposed to pick them up Monday but that has been the pattern for years.
A woman on the 1900 block of Cherry Heights Road reported that her granddaughter stole her Samsung Galaxy cell phone with a bright pink case Tuesday morning.
A man in the 7000 block of Eight Mile Road reported Tuesday night his mother took six of his cows. When he tried to get the cows back, his mother had parked her truck in front of the gate and stated the cows belonged to her. The man says he has branding papers to prove they belong to him. He said he would wait until daylight to retrieve the cows, in the presence of law enforcement.
Regional Jail
Fred James Jurado, 41, The Dalles, was transported to the regional jail and booked on five counts of failure to appear.
