A caller at East Second and Laughlin reported Tuesday morning a man was sleeping on a bench and just relieved himself. The caller did not want to press charges and the man was counseled.
A caller in the 1700 block of West Sixth reported Tuesday morning an employee won’t give him his backpack and sleeping bag back.The caller had his property returned when police arrived. The caller had been sleeping in a towed van on the property at night without permission. The caller was trespassed.
Travis Lawrence Cooper, 27, The Dalles, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 2700 block of West Seventh Street and is accused of two counts of probation violation.
A caller in the 1700 block of East Ninth reported Tuesday morning a dog was left behind and was dying. Its leg had been chewed off by something. A local veterinarian was notified.
A caller in the 200 block of West 16th Street reported Tuesday morning she was a victim of a Craigslist scam and she is out $1,100.
A caller in the 400 block of Lincoln reported Tuesday morning a man was outside threatening to kill two staffers. Police met the man who agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation.
A caller in the 500 block of Mt. Hood reported Tuesday afternoon someone backed into her vehicle while it was parked.
A caller in the 1100 block of West Sixth Street reported Tuesday afternoon her ex-boyfriend was harassing her when she worked in the drive-through, saying he intimidated her by handing her money with blood on it. She feels it is connected to her earlier refusal to cash fraudulent checks. She asked that the information be logged.
A caller reported homeless were camping by the splash area by the parks offices Tuesday afternoon. Police could not find any campers and there were no signs of trash.
David James Jacobsen, 34, The Dalles, was arrested Tuesday evening at the police station and is accused of unlawful possession of heroin, being a felon in possession of a weapon (misdemeanor), first-degree theft, unlawful possession of a Schedule III controlled substance and unlawful possession/concealment of firearms.
David Scott Douthit, 50, was arrested Tuesday evening in the 1200 block of West Sixth Street and is accused of misdemeanor driving while under the influence of intoxicants (controlled substance).
An officer removed rocks from the roadway in the 1600 block of East Second Street Tuesday evening.
A caller in the 900 block of Union reported Tuesday evening his Playstation 3 was stolen and he had a suspect.
A caller reported a telephone line was down in the 200 block of East Seventh Street Tuesday evening. Possibly line was struck by traffic.
Wasco County
On Tuesday morning, deputies responded to a report of a juvenile who ran away. Youth was last seen near Lambert Street in The Dalles. Subject was later located; case closed.
Deputies responded to the 3600 block of W. 13th Street for a domestic complaint on Tuesday afternoon.
Man allegedly pushed a woman, then went and removed battery from her vehicle. Subjects said it was verbal argument only; no signs of physical altercation. The male subject was asked to leave the residence.
A caller reported there was at least one person trespassing by camping on his undeveloped land off of Cherry Heights Road near 13th Street on Tuesday afternoon.
A vehicle was clocked traveling 72 mph on Highway 197 southbound near milepost 22 on Tuesday afternoon. Deputy stopped vehicle; female driver had DWS violation and was cited for the offense.
A caller reported a deer that had been badly injured and was stuck in a fence and unable to get up on Tuesday afternoon in the 4100 block of Chenowith Road. Deputy was called to respond; deer was not located.
