The Dalles
Aug. 6, 11:33 a.m. – A car vs. bike crash was reported in the 2600 block of West Sixth Street. Vehicle was attempting to turn right onto West Sixth when they hit a bicycle going westbound in the eastbound lane. Bicyclist went to hospital. Minor damage to vehicle. Report taken.
Aug. 6 – 2:43 a.m. – A tractor trailer crashed into trees in the 3500 block of West Sixth. The driver was found unconscious and not breathing. CPR was attempted but the driver was deceased at the scene. Report taken.
Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue
Firefighters were dispatched Aug. 8 to the 4500 block of Orchard Road on a vehicle fire. The crew diverted from a previous medical call to respond to the scene but found no active fire or visible smoke. There were scorch marks from a fire on the fender and hood of the truck. The owner said he did not know how the fire started in the unoccupied vehicle, but he extinguished the flames with a garden hose. He was asked to disconnect the battery and move the truck away from the house in case there were other problems.
Crews from station one and two were dispatched Aug. 5 to waterfront park on a smoke report. They were turned back when police officer found the smoke was coming from a barbecue grill.
MCF&R responded to 27 calls for medical assistance between Aug. 5 and 9.
The Dalles City
A caller in the 900 block of Hosteler reported Aug. 6 her car windows were broken the night before.
A caller in the 1400 block of Barge Way reported Aug. 6 finding things that appeared an attempted arson was made in the last three-four weeks. Found were a burned up coffee can and bottles of lighter fluid. Report taken.
A caller in the 400 block of East 10th reported Aug. 6 finding paint dumped in a pothole. The painter crew was found and said they thought the paint would help fill the hole. They said they would clean it up.
A caller in the library parking lot reported Aug. 6 a dog was in a station wagon. The owner was with the dog in the car, and it was 113 degrees in the car. The owner will remove the dog from the car and sit in the shade.
A caller from The Dalles reported Aug. 6 having problems with unwanted text messages. He was advised to block the caller and did so.
A transient in the 1700 block of West Sixth was told on Aug. 6 he was trespassed from the area the week before and now had an hour to completely relocate his camp.
A caller in the 300 block of West Sixth Street reported Aug. 6 his boat was stolen from The Dalles marina.
A caller in the 500 block of East Eighth Street reported Aug. 6 a pitbull with a medical cone around his head lunged at her and tried to attack her dog. The dog was returned to its owner and the incident logged.
A caller in the 1200 block of West Eighth Street reported Aug. 6 someone was pounding on her door and she has issues with people trying to break in. She said she was in her bedroom with a chair in front of the door. Police found no one near the apartment and others in a common area said they had not seen anyone in the area or knocking on doors.
A caller reported a customer in the 300 block of East Second Street ran away without paying the bill, and a waitress was chasing him down the street and he was bleeding from the ear. Police learned the suspect returned to pay the bill. Michael James Routh, 23, The Dalles, was arrested at Fourth and Court and was charged with interfering with a police officer after running from police.
A caller in the 1500 block of West First Street reported Aug. 6 a shipment of marijuana was being shipped across state lines and police needed to come take possession of it. Report taken.
A caller in the 1600 block of East 13th Street reported Aug. 6 a teen was causing a disturbance and destroying things because she was told to go to bed and get off the computer. An agreement was reached for the youth to go to bed for the night.
Terryn Curtis Lee, 28, The Dalles, was arrested at Riverfront Park Aug. 6 and is accused of three counts of probation violation.
An alarm went off in the 200 block of Court Street Aug. 6 and when police responded, they found the janitor had set the alarm off on accident. He had a municipal warrant out, and Luis Manuel Gutierrez, 23, The Dalles, was arrested on a charge of second-degree failure to appear.
A caller in the 700 block of West 12th Street reported Aug. 7 she was nipped by a dog, but it didn’t break the skin. Dog owner warned for dog at large.
A caller came to the police station Aug. 7 to report she was being harassed by a man. Report taken.
A caller in the 1000 block of West Sixth reported Aug. 7 a customer left without paying. The customer said she was upset with a fee and left because she knew she wouldn’t be thinking clearly. She said she would go back to the business to make payment arrangements.
A caller in the 700 block of Pomona reported Aug. 7 a person wasn’t making sense and was possibly dehydrated. The man declined medical attention.
A caller in the 400 block of East Second reported Aug. 7 a customer keeps calling and complaining about a person on staff. He said he’s surprised something bad hasn’t happened to that person.
Wasco County
A Dufur Valley Road resident reported Aug. 8 that an unoccupied vehicle that had been there all night was blocking mailboxes. An attempt was made to reach the owner and a message left that the vehicle would be tagged for towing if left there. It was moved 20 feet up the road.
A deer was hit in the area of Petersburg School on Aug. 8 and a caller reported that the animal was injured, and a deputy needed to euthanize it. The animal was dead when the deputy arrived and had been moved to the ditch.
Drug activity was reported Aug. 8 in a 3600 block of 13th Street apartment complex. Deputies arrived to find an unused needle but the woman that had been seen with it was not located.
Deputies were told Aug. 8 that someone might be mowing dry grass on Boyd Loop Road, which was a fire danger.
A deputy from Sherman County relayed through dispatch on the evening of Aug. 8 that he had given a ride to a female in a nightgown to Celilo. She told him that she planned to walk into The Dalles.
A camp fire was reported Aug. 9 in Tygh Valley but deputies were unable to locate.
An identity theft was reported Aug. 7 by a Dufur resident.
Deputies were called to an address in the 1700 block of Simonelli Road on a report that a male subject would not leave. He was allegedly outside hitting vehicles and the complainant was told to stay inside and lock the doors. When officials arrived, the man took off running and a witness said he attempted to ride a motorcycle but was unable to. He then called someone to come get him. The witness said the subject had talk going to the workplace of a known woman and beating her up. She was contacted about the situation. Charges are pending against the man for assault, theft, criminal mischief, harassment and interfering with a police report.
The spare tire was reportedly stolen off a recreational vehicle Aug. 7 while it was parked at the White River Campground.
A Morrow Road woman reported Aug. 7 that people were trespassing next door. The house was in probate and the complainant requested extra patrols until that process was completed.
Deputies were alerted Aug. 7 that subjects were target shooting along Highway 97 at milepost 30.
A woman living on Old Dufur Road reported Aug. 7 that 13-year-old son was missing. He was last seen at Riverfront Park. While talking to dispatch, the woman said the teen had been found on the beach.
Suspicious activity was reported Aug. 7 near a Taylor Lake industrial development. He said it sounded like someone was loading steel into the back of a truck, but he was hiding and afraid to look in case they saw him. The company reported that it had given permission for a male subject to pick up scrap metal.
A resident in the 4500 block of Highway 30 reported Aug. 7 that a young man had been speeding by on a motorcycle in excess of 100 miles per hour for the last three days. No activity was noted when deputies sat at the scene.
Earl Carlisle McCormack, 27, of Portland was jailed Aug. 4 after being arrested in Sherman County for first-degree criminal trespass and a probation violation. Jeremy Leroy Stryker, 42, of Albany was jailed Aug. 3 for failure to appear in a Gilliam County Court.
Pedro Benjamin Guzman Ortega, 27, of Portland was booked and release Aug. 3 for driving while suspended in Wasco County.
Wendi Laurie Cunningham, 50, of Anaconda, Mont., was jailed Aug. 3 for failure to appear in a Gilliam County Court.
Cleveland Matthew Phillips, 44, of Hermiston was jailed Aug. 8 in Wasco County for a post-prison supervision sanction.
William Jack Midland, 39, address unlisted, was jailed Aug.8 in Wasco County for a probation violation.
Alana Faye Seidel, 28, of The Dalles was jailed Aug. 8 for a probation violation.
Dakota James Christopher, 22, of The Dalles was jailed Aug. 8 for probation violation.
Sarah Sue Casey, 32, of The Dalles was jailed Aug. 8 for a probation violation.
David James Jacobsen, 35, of The Dalles wws jailed Aug. 8 for a post-prison supervision sanction.
Shana Marie Henry, 38, of The Dalles was jailed Aug. 8 for a post-prison supervision sanction.
Deanna June Rose Rapisura, 36, of The Dalles, was jailed Aug. 8 for first-degree failure to appear.
Danielle Marie Pantano, 35, of The Dalles, was jailed Aug. 8 for fourth-degree assault, first-degree criminal mistreatment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of methamphetamine.
Ryan Valle Collins, 34, of Roslyn, Wash., was booked by The Dalles officers Aug. 9 as a fugitive.
Chad Eugene Reece, 47, of The Dalles was jailed Aug. 7 for second-degree failure to appear.
David James Sendejas, 26, of The Dalles was jailed Aug. 7 for a post-prison supervision sanction and probation violation.
Otto Brandon Paulette, 42, of The Dalles was booked Aug. 8 by The Dalles officers for DUII – Alcohol.
Jordan Vincent Brennan, 24, The Dalles, was arrested Aug. 6 at the parole and probation office and is accused of probation violation.
