Accidents
The Dalles
April 28, 10:22 a.m. – A car was reported in the ditch in the 2300 block of River Road. The driver, who was not injured, stated his tire blew and he swerved into the ditch, damaging fence. Vehicle towed.
April 28, 11:26 a.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury crash at West Fourth and Liberty streets. A Toyota westbound on Fourth was struck by a Honda southbound on Liberty. The Honda driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
April 18, 11:59 a.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury crash at East Third and Monroe. A public works vehicle rolled away from where it was parked and hit a parked vehicle. Minor damage. Information exchanged. Report taken.

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue
April 28, 7:37 a.m.—Personnel responded to the 1000 block of East 9th Street after a resident of a health care facility turned on the oven to preheat it without checking to see if anything was in the oven. Meatloaf was left inside from the previous evening’s dinner. The smoke from the burning meatloaf sounded the alarm. Alarm was reset.
Personnel also responded to eight calls for emergency medical services Thursday.

A woman reported Thursday afternoon that her front license plate was stolen in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street. Report taken.
A caller in the 400 block of Lincoln Street reported Tuesday afternoon the theft of a lawn mower and weed eater.
A caller in the 3800 block of West Sixth street reported being stuck in the bathroom and unable to get out. An officer knocked on both doors, which were both locked, and did not hear anyone yelling for help, and could not see anyone through the windows.
A caller reported finding a prescription bottle with medication at the skate park Thursday evening. Police noted the name of the person on the prescription has a warrant for his arrest.
Michael David Shinnick, 45, was arrested Thursday evening in the 1200 block of West Sixth Street on post-prison supervision sanction.
A man called Thursday evening to report his grandson lost his wallet at a business in the 3600 block of West Sixth Street and he understood someone turned it in. The wallet was returned.
A caller in the 1300 block of East 12th Street reported her stepson was threatening to stab her son. Police suggested talking to counselors and calling the juvenile department about further resources. The stepson was not at home, but an officer would counsel him if he became available.
An officer saw a pickup with one headlight going onto Tie Plant Road late Thursday. The officer went down to check out what the pickup might be doing down there and found at least five RVs, several more vehicles and at least one camp. It appears to be quite a few people camping on land just east of the tie plant between the freeway and West Second Street.

A burglary report was taken Thursday evening from the 82800 block of Highway 216.
Oregon State Police
John Thomas Lafranchise, 50, The Dalles, was arrested Thursday from the 3300 block of Northeast Bret Clodfelter Way for failing to report as a sex offender.
