Students in The Dalles received a boost Saturday, picking up free backpacks filled with school supplies at Verizon wireless retailer TCC, located at 400 Mt. Hood St., Suite 100. The national backpack giveaway provided backpacks filled with pencils, folders, glue and other school supplies.
