The New Year marks a turning point for winter sports; the preseason wraps up and the regular season is on the horizon. Teams have practiced and trained for months at this point, adapting between losses and carrying momentum between wins. For the HRV girls basketball team, there’s a challenging season ahead, but still reason to hope.

Winter sports officially get underway this week for both Hood River Valley High School and Horizon Christian School.

The winter sports season dawns on Saturday, following Thanksgiving break for local students. As noted in This Week at HRVHS, the Blue and Gold Night will be held Nov. 28, and it’s a great opportunity to see the nascent skills of our Eagle teams in action, and give the youngsters the support they deserve.
