‘Mad Hatter’ cake decorating contest open

All cake decorating enthusiasts can show off their talents and compete for four $100 cash prizes by entering the “Once Upon a Cake” decorating contest as a part of the fifth annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, an afternoon event, from 2-4 p.m. on May 17, hosted by the Columbia Gorge Hotel.

To the editor: Was there a real shutdown? Does a shutdown still have an income? On Oct. 15, during a government shutdown using a government website, I paid $4,900 in federal payroll taxes. I believe it can be documented that there was no shutdown on receiving money from employers.
