Newly-elected District 52 Rep. Anna Williams was sworn into office at the State Capital on Jan. 14, alongside her 59 fellow representatives, during the first gathering of the State House of Representatives for the 2019 Legislative Session.

Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan will retire at the end of his term and not seek reelection. A broadcast industry website published a story Wednesday suggesting U.S. Rep. Greg Walden (R-Hood River) could be the next speaker.

“We honor and try to keep the memory of all our deceased brothers and sisters alive so they are never forgotten,” Fire Chief Greg Borton said Sunday at the Odell fire hall.
