The Dalles High School boys soccer team came one win from accomplishing its goal of advancing to the 16-team state playoffs Saturday, when it lost 2-1 in overtime against Seaside High School.

Competing in the Sandy Spring Break Tournament March 21-23, the No. 15-ranked The Dalles High Riverhawks softball team won two out of four nonleague games while facing three Class 6A squads.

Horizon Christian School bounced back from its worst loss of the season with a 2-1, shootout, soccer win Thursday at Southwest Christian in Beaverton.

The Hawks (5-2-3) earned third place in the 3A/2A/1A Special District 7 eight-player playoffs. Horizon was dropped into the third-place consolation match after losing Tuesday 6-1 at regular-season and eventual district champion Damascus Christian.
