‘No buzz’ before Wy’east walkout

While other Hood River County School District sites had advanced warning of a 17-minute student walkout on March 14, at Wy’east Middle School, there was “no buzz” in the days leading up to the event, said Principal Sarah Braman-Smith.

With the Hood River County School District and Horizon Christian School back in session Sept. 8, there’s been a fair amount of buzzing around the various sites in the past week or so. And for four new principals — two of whom are new to the area — the work is just beginning.

Dalbey is new HRCSD human resources director

Catherine Dalbey has been selected as the next Human Resources Director for the Hood River County School District beginning July. Her selection was approved by the School Board on April 22. Dalbey will be replacing Kevin Noreen, who has resigned the position effective June 30 to take a position with Forest Grove School Board.
