HRV comes up short vs. Hermiston and stays strong at Forest Grove

The HRV baseball team played its opening game of Spring Break on Monday in Peoria, Ariz., losing 10-1 to Eagle High School of Eagle, Idaho.

After giving up 18 runs to Reynolds on Tuesday and 11 more to Forest Grove on Wednesday, the Hood River Valley baseball team needed a breakout pitching performance on Thursday at The Dalles.

The season was over in early February, but it officially came to an end last Friday in Hermiston.

No one on the HRV boys basketball team figured that a move to the Intermountain Conference would be easy.

All Phil Vesel wanted from his team last Saturday at Pendleton was something he has yet to see this season: four quarters of good, solid effort.
