A YOUNG boy heads up a climbing wall in the upper parking lot of The Dalles Wasco County Libary during a celebration of the end of the community summer reading program of “Peak” by author Roland Smith on Saturday, Oct. 3. Cotton candy, prizes and a bounce house drew a good crowd to the event.

The Friends of the Library and Klindt’s Booksellers are joining forces to raise funds for a “One book, one community” reading program during September. It will be the first such program in the area.
