CASCADE LOCKS — A racing duel between two mayors last Sunday ended well for both parties — but perhaps not so tidily for unsuspecting Hood River City Manager Lynn Guenther.

The results are in for the Hood River County General Election of Nov. 5. Two out of every three county voters cast ballots in the election: the unofficial turnout was 65.9 percent -- 7,072 votes out of 10,724 registered.Here are highlights -- official results will appear in the Nov. 9 edition of the Hood River News:

With “cautious optimism” the city of Cascade Locks agreed on Monday to devise a tentative plan for sharing its Enterprise Zone with other Hood River County agencies.
