To the editor: Leadership is a difficult concept to define, but most of us know it when we see it. And we have seen it in Kathy Schwartz, our choice for Position 3 on the Wasco County Commission.
To the editor: Being born and raised in rural Wasco County and working in The Dalles for many years, I have grown to appreciate the importance of having a true rural representative, like Steve Kramer, on the Wasco County Board of Commissioners. While commissioners (or want to be commissioners) who live in the greater The Dalles area may say they understand rural issues (they say anything to get elected) from my experience only those who live and have worked in the rural area truly know the struggles and challenges rural Oregon faces on a daily basis.
To the editor: I have known and worked with Steve Kramer for the past seven years. First, during his tenure as manager of Mel’s Sanitary Service, and following that, during his past four years in the Wasco County Commissioner’s office.
To the editor: To Mosier Fire District Voters – We are currently being asked to vote in a special recall election. As members of the Mosier Community we would like to encourage each of you to make a careful and considered decision as you cast your vote.
To the editor: NFL football player Adrian Peterson, who recently hit his 4-year-old with a stick, justified it by saying that his father raised him the same way. He claims that corporal punishment helped him turn out to be a successful football player. I believe Adrian has been successful because he was taught to work hard, not to give up, practice a lot, and play as a team.

To the editor: We have witnessed Bridget Bailey develop from the school girl to the savvy business woman. She is getting our vote for county commissioner and we believe she deserves yours.
