To the editor: This is probably the most important election in the history of the United States. We have endured the last seven years of a corrupt administration; one that followed Bill Clinton’s more guarded yet corrupt administration. Don’t forget Bill’s administration delivered us the housing bubble that caused the recession.

While the future of its June 2012 Husum/BZ Corner Plan and Zoning Update may be in the hands of a state appellate court, Klickitat County’s board of commissioners plans to hold a public hearing on April 23 to take public comment on revisions to or the possible repeal of the update.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Dozens of people protesting a decades-old state tax on dance venues swayed to the rhythm Monday in support of a repeal being considered by lawmakers at the Washington state Capitol.

Small business owners and farmers have been some of the hardest-hit by the tough economy, and those who stay afloat increasingly worry they won’t be able to pass on their enterprises to the next generation. In liberal Oregon, of all places, a measure will be on the ballot this November to ease the burden by eliminating the state’s death tax.
