The Pirate’s Parrot Show is a fun, educational, and interactive experience for all ages.  This show comes with a large variety of parrots from around the world, “real” pirates, an authentic pirate ship display, and delightful speech and freeflight performances.

Pirate King Taylor Beeks sings “Cat Like Tread” during dress rehearsal of “The Pirates of Penzance JR” by The Dalles Middle School theater department. The classic comedy opens Friday at 7 p.m. in the TDMS Commons. Additional performances are May 14, 20 and 21. Concessions will be available before, during and after the show.

Librarian Steighner to retire

She had been sharing her love of reading with her young son, and then thought about sharing that love with other children. That was the initial enticement that drew veteran children’s librarian Hillary Steighner to apply for the children’s librarian position with the Hood River County Library back in 1987.
