Four men and one juvenile, ages 16 to 44, were arrested earlier this month and charged with seeking to commit sexual acts with minor children following a joint operation by the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office and Portland FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force. The Columbia Gorge Major Crimes Team, including officers from The Dalles, and the Hood River County District Attorney’s Office assisted, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the Hood River County Sheriff’s office.

The difficult thing about stats to show the number of people who have survived sexual violence is that most incidents go unreported, say advocates from HAVEN of the Columbia Gorge.

Late last week, a misguided group of "protesters" (more appropriately, let's call them arsonists) took it upon themselves to torch several log trucks in Estacada, Ore. The reason: the trucks belonged to a contractor working on a legal timber harvest in the Mt. Hood National Forest.
