In what’s becoming their typical exciting, nerve-racking style, the HRV boys basketball team defeated the Pendleton Buckaroos 77-67 at home last Friday to open the regular season.
An inspired playoff run by the HRV softball team came to a close Friday evening at Steve Cary Field in Pendleton, where the No. 3 Pendleton Buckaroos edged the No. 6 Eagles 4-2 in the quarterfinal round of the 5A state tournament.
Another successful doubleheader was had by the HRV baseball team this weekend, who took down the Pendleton Buckaroos 12-9 in the first game and 4-2 in the second on the road Saturday thanks to standout performances by the Eagles’ go-to guys, as well as athletes whose names don’t often appear at the top of the stat sheets.
